Nova Scotia Tourism Advisory Panel Registration Official Contest Rules & Regulations
Contest Period starts on July 19, 2012 and closes on December 31, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Time (Contest Closing Date). No purchase necessary. Only one entry per person.
This Contest is only open to entrants who are 18 years of age or older and who have completed a vacation trip of at least one night away from home in a typical year, except residents of Nova Scotia and employees of the Nova Scotia Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism (Nova Scotia Tourism) and its representatives, dealers, agents, Contest suppliers, and those with whom they are domiciled. A Nova Scotia resident is defined as a person, individually or belonging to a household, who either pays rent or residential property tax within Nova Scotia as their primary place of residence. If an individual or household rents or pays property tax both within and outside Nova Scotia, primary residence is defined as the area where the individual lives the majority of the time. This Contest is only open to only those entrants who have indicated they are willing to be contacted by Nova Scotia Tourism for future research, and who have clicked on the link in the confirmation email sent to the email address provided to confirm their Panel membership.
To enter, you must join the Panel and provide all necessary information before the Contest Closing Date. All entries submitted become the property of Nova Scotia Tourism.
A random, electronic draw will be made on January 7, 2013 by Corporate Research Associates, Nova Scotia Tourism’s research supplier, from all members of the Panel who joined the Panel on or before the Contest Closing Date. The selected entrant’s contact information will be sent to the Department through secure FTP, and a Tourism representative will contact the selected entrant by email and/or telephone. Three attempts will be made to contact the selected entrant by phone and email (if both were provided in the contest form). If a selected entrant cannot be reached within 7 calendar days following the draw, another entrant will be selected.
The selected entrant must sign a Contest Acceptance Form as a condition of receiving the prize and correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question (located on the Contest Acceptance Form). The selected entrant will have 10 business days to complete and return the Contest Acceptance Form (mailed forms must be postmarked by the 10th day).
A selected entrant is eligible to win one prize only consisting of: $500 (Canadian funds).
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, and may not be transferred, sold or exchanged.
Nova Scotia Tourism shall use the survey data provided by the selected entrant for research purposes only.
The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
Nova Scotia Tourism assumes no responsibility for failure of the Internet or the website during the promotional period, nor for any problems or technical malfunction of any communications link. Nova Scotia Tourism reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend any portion of this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest.
If the identity of a selected entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry.
By participating in this contest, all entrants declare that they have read, understood and complied with the contest rules and agree to abide by all decisions of Nova Scotia Tourism whose decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. ENTRANTS RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS NOVA SCOTIA TOURISM, ITS ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES, THEIR AFFILIATES AND RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, OWNERS, PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, DEALERS, REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS FROM ANY LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST.
Nova Scotia Tourism reserves the right to modify or cancel this contest at any time without notice to the entrants.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organizing of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Quebec Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement.
Subject only to the above paragraph for residents of Quebec, this Contest is governed exclusively by the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada, and all disputes are subject solely to the courts of Nova Scotia without regard to conflicts of law.
